Recently the fourth sequel of the Blockbuster Muni series, Kanchana 3, was released. The movie went on to make it big, collecting 100 crores (RM 60 million), following the resounding reception from audiences and fans of the franchise.
The film’s success prompted Raghava Lawrence to announce his debut as a Bollywood director.
Bagging a deal to remake Kanchana in Hindi under the title Laxmmi Bomb, the movie looked set to feature Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani among others in lead roles. Seeing the success the film garnered in Tamil, the Hindi remake of the film sure set the expectation bar high up there!
However, while Akshay Kumar was busy releasing the film’s first look poster and announcing its release date, Lawrence took to Twitter to announce that he will be stepping out of the project saying “I feel very disrespected and disappointed.”
Lawrence has also decided to GIVE THE SCRIPT AWAY to Akshay Kumar, for whom the actor-director was quoted as saying he has utmost respect. Lawrence also said that the production team can feel free to replace him with another director and continue with the filming. WHAT. A. SHOCKER. YAAR!
According to a trusted source, Laxmmi Bomb’s production team has made plans to fly to Chennai this week, to further discuss the matter with Lawrence in the hopes of reaching a resolution.
That is surely some drama brewing. Want to find out more? Stay tuned with us on Raaga for more updates!
