Yesterday was definitely a sad day for Indian Cinema as it mourned the loss of one of its beloved, Mohan Rangachari.
Affectionately known as Crazy Mohan following his popular play Crazy Theives in Palavakkan, Mohan was a prominent Tamil theatre artiste, playwright and a favorite scriptwriter among Tamil filmmakers.
Having graduated as a mechanical engineer in 1970, Mohan found his calling in words and art. He later started his own drama troupe dubbed Crazy Creations.
Known for his witty one-liners and what can only be called his own brand of comedy, Crazy Mohan left behind a world of fellow artistes, friends, followers and fans who all grieve the lost of a maestro who made comedy timeless.
Passing at 67, Mohan suffered an acute heart attack in Chennai. He was declared dead at 2pm Indian time after efforts to resuscitate him failed.
Many prominent names took it to social media to express their grief and celebrate his life well lived.
Among them were Kamal Hassan who penned a heart-felt tribute to their friendship…
And actor Siddharth who attributed laughter to Crazy Mohan in his Twitter post
The best people are the hardest to forget, we suppose. Join us in saying a prayer for his crazy, artistic soul. May he rest in peace as his legacy lives on.
