Venpa the movie is slated to hit the silverscreens come 19.09.19. The promotional videos for the upcoming rom-com has been going viral on the internet with much anticipation for the full feature film, since the inception of the short film 2 years ago.

In recent development, the first track from the film has been released on Youtube in the form of a lyrical video, as the visuals from the flick is still being held suspense. A Varmman Elangkovan composition, the track was sung by Sudhanesh Subramaniam and newcomer Sri Vithya. 

An inside source revealed quite a tale behind the recording of this track. The male part of the song was recorded at a local studio while the female parts were recorded at a studio in the United Kingdom under the remote supervision of the Malaysian composer. If you’re wondering why, Sri Vithya is a Malaysian who works in the UK! 

Speaking to director Kavi Nathan, we learnt that the team behind Venpa has quite a history. 

“Both I and Varmman collaborated for the Venpa short film and we have been joined at the elbows ever since! 

“Varmman first composed this song when he was 17. The first time I heard the demo, I fell in love to say the least. 

“It was soft, romantic and melodious. Basically, everything I expected this love track to be!” he said when speaking to RAAGA regarding the track that features Shuruthiish Thrumaran on the lyrics.
