When it comes to making a statement through the roles they play, Jyothika is one of those actresses who wouldn’t sit out on the opportunity. Refocusing the direction of her career recently, the actress has been actively essaying female-centric roles in her recent movies under her husband’s production house 2D Entertainment. Calling Surya a supportive partner would be underselling him.

Last seen playing lead in Radha Mohan’s remake of Tumhari Sulu, dubbed Kaatrin Mozhi, Jyothika reprised the role of a housewife-turned-RJ which was originally essayed by Vidhya Balan. She definitely brought her performance up a notch in the movie, giving the character a whole Tamilachi feel.

So, when we say we are excited for her next, we definitely mean it! Jyothika will next be seen in Sy Gowtham Raj’s social drama, Ratchasi. She will be essaying the role of a new headmistress at a rural school that is being run by politicians and gangsters.

Word on the street is, the film will be hitting the silver screens on June 28. The trailer was released on May 31, garnering quite a response online. Produced under the banner Dream Warrior Entertainment, the film was shot by Monster fame cinematographer Gokul Benoy with Sean Roland orchestrating the music.

Following Ratchasi, the actress will next be seen in director Kalyan's 'Jackpot", playing a crucial supporting role, and 'Papanasam' director Jeethu Joseph's next film, which is yet to be named.
