AR Rahman was the king of the music industry all through the 90’s and early 2000’s. And recently, he announced that he will be stepping into the shoes of a producer and writer in what would be a first for him! His upcoming, titled ’99 Songs’, is bankrolled by YM Movies in a collaboration with Jio Studios.
The film is rumored to be a young and passionate love story with music as its soul. A Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy direction, much anticipation is building up around the film!
Rahman took to his Twitter to make the announcement.
The movie has been selected for screening at the prestigious Busan International film festival on October 9.
‘99 Songs’ features debutants Ehan, Edilsy Varghese and Tenzin Dalha. The film will also feature Lisa Ray, Manisha Koirala, composer-drummer Ranjit Barot and Indian Ocean’s Rahul Ram in the supporting roles.
