Shamnkeri Pillai, better known as Yunohoom is a trilingual Malaysian female rapper who used to be known as RubbaBend and who was signed under the label, Psychounit back in 2011 right until 2015.
She made a comeback as an independent artist in 2019 and now goes by the stage name,“Yunohoo”.
Her first single, titled “X-Ninja” was produced by Roshan Jamrock.
Yunohoo has also worked predominantly in the Kollywood industry with frequent collaborator Yuvan Shankar Raja for songs such as “Stylish Tamilachi”, “Kaalam” ,”Run for your life “ and an independent collaboration with Kollywood music producer Yuvan Shankar Raja titled “Don’t Touch Me” which has all garnered over 20 million views on YouTube.
From a young age Yunohoo was attracted to the music world, enjoying her school bus trips vibing to english songs and sharing her gift of rap with her friends.
After completing school, Yunohoo became part of a Bhangra dancing troupe for three years.
It was when she started working that she met a friend who linked her to Rabbit Mac of Pyscho Unit. The single "Mandai Odi Dance" in 2011, helped her get widely noticed.
Her most recent feature is for the song “DPKT” by Roshan Jamrock which also features international artists like Dopeadelicz, MC SAI, Chico from Sicarios and Young Ruff,
The song has gone viral on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
Yunohoo is currently working on her singles which are expected to be released by the end of the year.
