If your spirit animal is the rat, then this year is for you as the Year of the Rat is approaching for Chinese New Year. The animal is associated with the Zodiac signs and it brings a meaning of vitality and intelligence, and it is the first animal among the Chinese zodiac signs.

The animals chosen for the Chinese zodiacs stems from an ancient mythological story called the “The Great Race”, where the rank of the animals in the zodiac were determined by the ranking the animals finished in the race. Here’s a story. The Cat and Rat were close friends and together, the two made a plan to ride the Ox across the river. At the beginning of the race, the two animals slipped atop the Ox. Just when the Ox was about to win the race, the rat leapt on his head and on to the bank to finish first. 'Well done,' said the Jade Emperor to the proud rat. 'The first year of the zodiac will be named after you.' 

Interesting but what can we expect in this Year of the Rat? New opportunities and prosperity. The year will also be particularly good for businesses and entrepreneurs.
