For those who have heard about the black shoe policy in schools, fret no more as students can now wear whichever colour they would like.  Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has made the decision after reviewing the briefing given to him by the Education Ministry on Jan 16 which left him confused.

He told the press on Jan 17 (Friday) that "One thing I have decided is that you can wear brown shoes, black shoes, grey shoes, white shoes – any shoes will do,".

As acting education minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed said that he needed more time deciding on any education reforms that need to be done, but the black shoe policy was certainly not going to be one of them.
