Karthik Sivakumar , better known by his stage name Karthi, is an Indian actor who works predominantly in Tamil cinema. He has won three Filmfare Awards South, an Edison Award, a SIIMA Award and a Tamil Nadu State Film Award.
Karthik is the younger brother of actor, Suriya, and the youngest son of actor Sivakumar.
He initially joined Mani Ratnam as an assistant director, and then made his acting debut in Paruthiveeran in 2007, which garnered critical acclaim and several accolades, including the Filmfare Award for Best Actor.
His next project was that of the lead role in Aayirathil Oruvan (2010), an action-adventure film directed by Selvaraghavan.
He achieved consecutive commercial successes with his subsequent releases – Paiyaa (2010), Naan Mahaan Alla (2010) and Siruthai (2011), and after appearing in a series of box office flops, he starred in successful films such as Madras (2014), Thozha (2016), Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru (2017), Kadaikutty Singam (2018) and Kaithi (2019).

Paruthiveeran (2005)
Karthi made his debut as a lead actor with Paruthiveeran. He played a village thug and the actor delivered a performance of a lifetime. He was a natural actor, it was hard to believe that it was his first film.
Aayirathil Oruvan (2020)
After a rustic rural drama, Karthi next jumped straight into the fantasy world of Selvaraghavan. The film was way ahead of its time but did not receive its due at the box office when it released in 2010. However, it gained a cult status among movie fans. Karthi plays a tough taskmaster, who leads a team of porters in support of a high-risk archaeology expedition. The role was a flirt with a good heart goes through a series of soul-crushing trials before he finds the role he will be playing in changing the course of human history.
Madras (2014)

Karthi plays a dynamic youngster with a quick fuse whose loyalty to his childhood friend is the reason behind his downfall and eventual redemption.
Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru (2018)
A thriller where Karthi plays an extraordinary cop, which was based on a real-life police operation conducted in India in the early 2000s. The well-researched film was written and directed by H Vinoth, who had delivered an edge of the seat thriller and it has Karthi delivering one of the best performances of his career.
Kaithi (2019)
Director Lokesh Kanagaraj had made the film in a very realistic and rustic way. Karthi had played the role of a ex-convict, who does time for murder. He gets a shot at redemption the very day he gets out of jail. It is a non-stop action extravaganza with strong emotional beats.
