The Tamil remake of 2017 Mufti went into production with Narthan directing the project, alongside STR and Gautham Karthik as lead cast. The shoot went on for 13 days completing a portion of the movie.  Recently, Narthan backed out of the project for unknown reasons.

The 2017 Kannada blockbuster Mufti was directed by Narthan himself. The film featured Prakash Belawadi, Shanvi Srivastava, Shivarajkumar playing lead roles; revolving around an undercover cop. The announcement of its remake with STR in the leads had fans excited.

Krishna the director of Suriya's blockbuster movie Jillunu Oru Kaadhal has taken up the project. The shoot is expected to resume soon. Fans are eager to know what the combo have in store, specially after the amazing transformation of STR.
