Standard operating procedures (SOP) for This year’s Deepavali celebration on Nov 14 is expected to be announced this week.
The rapidly increasing number of COVID-19 cases has put the county in shock, after recently reaching a 4 digit number had everyone worried specially the Indian community that’s is expecting to celebrate Deepavali on 14th of November this year.
In recent announcement the Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the first draft of the SOP was tabled at the National Security Council by National Unity Minister Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique last Friday and is expected to be finalized in the upcoming days.
"The NSC is scrutinising the proposed SOP and I believe improvements are being made. The NSC and the Health Ministry need to analyse the matter further as the SOP will be different for localities placed under the enhanced movement control order (MCO), conditional MCO or recovery MCO," He added.
