Vimala Perumal has always been an inspiring female director in the local tamil movie scenes in Malaysia. Being the first female director in the Silver Screens, she has given a number of movies like Vetti Pasaga, Vilayattu Pasanga, Vere Vazhi Ille and many others. 

Yesterday, she proved that aside from being active in the film industry she in also an academician. She graduated with Doctor of Philosophy from University Putra Malaysia. 

She is someone we all have to look up to.
