There has been an ongoing increase of Influenza A cases in the country as more people are being diagnosed with the symptoms.
Government hospitals are having a shortage of the vaccines at the moment, so many are being encouraged to go to private hospitals that still have supplies available. Priority for vaccines are given to those in high risk including pregnant women, children under five, senior citizens over the age of sixty-five and those with chronic health problems such as asthma, diabetes or high blood pressure.
In Selangor alone, there are 387 Influenza A cases to be reported as of yesterday, according to a statement by state education director Mahanom Mat Sam. Students who are affected were advised to stay at home, and schools are encouraged to have hand sanitizers and to ensure the surroundings are disinfected.
It is advisable for every individual to keep a good hygiene, especially in public or crowded places. Wear a mask when you are going out, and wash your hands after touching anything in public areas such as restaurants, monorails and other public areas.
