We all want to impress our future employers and stand out in the pool of applicants. You've sent an updated resumé with your work experience, achievements, and educational qualifications clearly listed to the company and now you've got an interview session.

Before heading out for the interview, it's important that you do some research about the company and the role that's being advertised. The interview is not just an opportunity for the company to get to know you, it's for you to find out more about the company and the role.

In order to prove to your interviewer that you're the best person for the job, you need to say the right things and ask the right questions. Your future employer should be able to visualise you doing the job and fitting into the company. The best way to demonstrate that is to ask this question:

How do you define success for this position?

With this question, you give your interviewer the impression that you're serious about this position and want to excel in it. The answer to this question will also help you if you get selected for the job, as it'll include useful information on the right attitude to adopt and the goals you need to achieve.

It's important that you know the results that are expected of you, it'll help you fit in and make your time there easier.
