3 Malaysian teachers were awarded The Global Teacher Award which was held on Malaysia Day 16/09/2019 in New Delhi. 

The event recognized the contributions of 500 teachers from India and 100 teachers from 72 countries. 

The following teachers from Malaysia were recognised: Mr. Mohana Ram Murugiah an English language teacher from SMK Perempuan Methodist, Ipoh, Pn. Lee Saw Im from SMK Seri Bintang Utara Kuala Lumpur and Mr. Parthiban Govindasamy from SJKT Ladang Shum Yip Leong, Cameron Highlands.

The teacher were awarded in recognition of their contributions to Education in various aspects, such as innovation, collaboration and teacher’s development without sparing their work in improving student outcomes in both academic and extracurricular activities.

Apart from them, the Education Ministry also joined in to celebrate these teachers who have done much for the community.

The Education Minister Dr. Maszlee Malik expressed his wishes and congratulations to the teachers on his social media platform in what can be called a milestone moment for these teachers and the Malaysian education system as a whole!
