Paramapatham is the first mind-twisting board game-based story in Malaysian history. This movie is directed by Viknes and Thanesh Perrabu, and produced by Sai Nanthini Movie World, Dr. Latcha Perrabu, PhD and Dr. Chakravarthy, PhD. Definitely not short of talent power here!
Paramapatham is a Snakes and Ladders game, originating from India about a thousand years ago. The team researched and recreated the board game with many more unique elements which will be showcased throughout this movie - explains why the movie carries the name, Paramapatham.
What’s even more interesting is this movie wants to produce the SPX-Special Effects make-up on a young lead actor to make him appear older for the role he was assigned to. Apparently, SPX make up was never done to anyone less than 30 years old in Malaysia. Swarie, an award winning make-up artist in Malaysia did her magic for the cast in this film. There's so much to be said about this movie — for example, it has the lengthiest dialogue ever in Malaysian Tamil Cinema — caught in one take! Ben G, the multi-talented artist in Malaysia memorised four pages of script in just minutes and shot the scene in just one take with NO cuts or second takes. The Tamil film was also the first in Malaysia to bring in the ice-skating and hot air balloon concept.
Local movie Paramapatham has been sent to compete in the Best Foreign Film Category in the 78th Golden Globe Awards next year. The yet-to-be-released thriller will be among 139 foreign language films from 77 countries vying for the top prize in the ceremony, which will take place next February.
Paramapatham will be competing against blockbusters such as "Asuran" and Surya's "Soorarai Pottru" in the same category.
We at RAAGA wish the team all the best at the 78th Golden Globe Awards!
