Dato' Lee Chong Wei made us proud again yesterday as he was honoured as the Badminton World Federation's (BWF) Best Male Player of the Year.
The national shuttler is no stranger to this award, this being his fifth time winning Best Male Player of the Year. Other badminton players nominated for this award include Olympic gold medalist Chen Long, the Malaysian Olympic silver medalist in men's doubles Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong, Olympic bronze medalist Jan O Jorgensen, and China's Olympic men's doubles pair.
Chong Wei is a three-time Olympian silver medalist, three-time Olympian of the Year, and four-time Commonwealth gold medalist. He's also currently ranked number one in the BWF world rankings.
