The long awaited Malaysian Tamil film Adai Mazhai Kaalam sets high expectations after the film received the Jury Special: Emerging Star Director award at Toronto Tamil Festival 2022. 

Karthik Shamaalan is a Malaysian director that has worked on many iconic films such as The Farm: En Veettu Thottathil and Sughamaai Subhulakshmi, along with many trending television series, including Kalyaanam 2 Kaathal, which is in its second season.

Adai Mazhai Kaalam has also received the jury’s special honorable mention indie feature at Los Angeles and nominated for the best international feature film and best actress at North America Film Festival. 

Adai Mazhai Kaalam expects its theatrical release soon on 26 January 2023, with a PG13 rating. The film's trailer and song by Shameshan Mani Maran promising a film that fans would enjoy watching on the big screen.
