People in Northern India are in awe at the sight of the famous Himalayan mountain range, which is now visible from more than 100 miles away. This could be due to the reduced air pollution from the country’s COVID-19 lockdown.

People living in the city of Jalandhar, a city in Punjab, and its surrounding areas have posted pictures online of the views from their homes.

Some wrote that they have never seen the peaks of the Himalayas for decades.

Reports have also stated that a total of 85 cities across India saw less air pollution during the first week of the nationwide lockdown and the air quality in Jalandhar has been measured as “good”.

Noticed any changes in your surroundings? Don’t head out to find out! Until the MCO is lifted, do stay safe, stay at home and practice good hygiene standards.
