Recently, a video of local authorities in Kanpur, India picking up a goat and taking it to the police station in a jeep went viral. The bizarre incident took place in the Beconganj area of Kanpur,India. Reports suggest that the incident had likely taken place over the weekend.
Kanpur police later issued a clarification after its bizarre action attracted the interest of thousands of netizens on social media.
What actually happened was that the local police had found a young adult roaming around without a face mask, taking the goat along.When the young adult saw the local authorities, he ran away leaving the goat behind, the policemen brought the goat to the police station. Later, we handed over the goat to its owner.
Local media reported that the owner of the goat rushed to the police station as soon as he received the news. Authorities returned the goat back to the owner but warned him not to allow the animal to roam on the road.
