It is another notch on the belt for Datuk Lee Chong Wei, this time as the first Malaysian athlete to be displayed at the famous Madam Tussauds Wax Museum in Hong Kong. The retired superstar athlete was also recently appointed as Malaysia’s chef de mission for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

In order for the team to record Lee Chong Wei’s details for the wax figure, he had to sit through a tiring six-hour session as they had to meticulously record every single figure including the colour of his hair and eyes.
Lee Chong Wei did not wait a second longer to share the news on his Facebook page and mentioned in the post “I’m extremely honored and grateful to be representing Malaysia. I hope my wax figure will inspire more Malaysians to showcase their talent on the global stage”.
The wax figure is said to be unveiled around the second quarter of 2020. The figure will be joining alongside the wax figure of Michelle Yeoh, who is the first Malaysian to have a wax figure displayed in the museum.
