Ajith's most recent film Valimai directed by H. Vinoth and co-starring Huma Qureshi and Karthikeya was well received by fans in spite of its mixed reviews. Now, the production house has officially announced that the film is a worldwide blockbuster with a record-breaking viewing on streaming platforms.

The production of his next project AK 61, is all set to begin in Hyderabad, India soon with most of the crew already assembled at the Ramoji Rao Film City. AK who recently underwent a small break and weight loss  in Kerala has shed a few kilos for the role and will join a few days after the film goes on floors.

Reports suggest  that the film is based on a bank heist and will be a stylish one for AK with realistic action and a stylish performance. Ajith will be playing  the role of a professor and Kavin will play one of his students.

There are also other reports that suggests he is playing a dual role, as the protagonist and antagonist and another report says that Mohan Lal and Nagarjuna will be playing the second lead. An official announcement is expected from the production house.
