At a press conference held on 8th of June the Malaysian Defense Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri, said the government will credit RM50 to the e-wallets of those who have the MySejahtera app downloaded on their devices.
“As announced by the Prime Minister in the message of the National Economic Recovery Plan (PENJANA) yesterday, the sum of RM50 will be credited once the people download the MySejahtera application. This is to encourage people to use this application,” said the Defence Minister.
MySejahtera is an app launched by the government that allows the Ministry of Health to identify and take necessary action to curb Covid-19 as it alerts them of the latest information concerning those who are infected with the virus.

MySejahtera is an application developed by the Government of Malaysia to assist in managing the COVID-19 outbreaks in the country. It allows users to perform health self-assessment on themselves and their family members. The users can also monitor their health progress throughout the COVID-19 outbreak.
After Malaysians heard the news, the app received an impressive 700,000 downloads in just a minute; causing the service to crash. In his daily update, The Health DG informed Malaysians of the situation and advised netizens to give the app some time to avoid congestion.
“Maybe we will extend the registration period for one day or even a week so that everyone can register smoothly without any interruption.”
