Orange cafe, a venture that is about to begin by the acid attacks survivors in Varanasi now. Looks like nothing can cease them! According to the statement given, Orange Cafe will set the ball rolling anytime soon at Durga Kund, India. Ajay Kumar Patel, the brain behind this motive, trains women in self-defense. Hats off.
Patel alludes that Orange Cafe will start off from a rented place and will soon get ownership as it runs. Their aim is to ensure that the survivors will solely own the cafe and run it themselves.
He shortlisted 4 survivors when he was traveling through the states to connect with the acid attack survivors, and they are willing to shift to Varanasi and take on the authority of running the cafe. Just wow!
The acid attack survivors who will be a part of this venture are Rekha from Jaunpur, Somvati from Bareilly, Vimla from Rae Bareli and Badam Devi from Varanasi.
These survivors will be well-trained to undertake the tasks with no assistance. “For the first four months, we will pay them a token amount but they will later share the profit among themselves,” said Patel.
Somvati, an acid attack survivor, attacked by her neighbor three years ago mentioned that she wants to stand on her own feet and not be dependent for survival.
Once a survivor, always a survivor.
