Most would expect mothers to be overprotective and keep her child at home, but not Siti Aminiah. The 29-year-old adventurous Malaysian mom took the challenge of hiking Mount Kinabalu with her 3-year-old daughter, Burr Yuna Mohd Rizal on her back and made it to the top!
Although Siti Aminah goes through fitness training, however it was a challenge as she had a tight schedule and did not have additional time to train properly before attempting the hike up the 4095-metre mountain.
It took a grueling 19 hours to complete the hike, but they reached the peak on 29th January morning. They were accompanied by a climbing guide and doctor throughout the hike and had to take care of their stamina as the air got thinner on higher ground.
Siti said that “Sofia didn’t once complain. She didn’t even need to be carried for the whole hike. There were times she would get down and walk herself.” Looks like the daughter shares the same determination as her mother!
When she shared her success online, many netizens praised her and her daughter for the success and shared their words of encouragement online. There were a handful that criticized her for bringing her daughter but she responded and told that they don’t know that her daughter is naturally an active person, how she wants to “conquer” other mountains in the future.
A mum can show her children love in many ways, and sharing this experience with her 3-year-old daughter was her way of doing it. The child will grow up to be a strong and resolute person in the future with a mum like Siti Aminah guiding her to the top. Way to go!
