The government has launched eGMUNIS, which is an online platform for the public to check for unclaimed monies owed to them. Many of us pay taxes and fines and at times it may be overpaid due to some discount on the fines or even rebate on the taxes. Most of the times these things go unnoticed by us because we do not have the time to go to the government offices to check on unclaimed monies.
Now using eGUMIS, you can follow these simple steps to register on the platform and check if you have any money owed to you by the government that has not been claimed:
1. Register an account at https://egumis.anm.gov.my/register/refunduser

4. Click on the “Carian Wang Tak Dituntut” button on the top left corner, and then key in your IC number.

5. The page will then show at the bottom any records of unclaimed money. Be sure to double check and key in the correct IC number as you only can do two different IC numbers a day.
Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Othman Aziz said there was a total of RM5.96 billion of unclaimed money as at October 31 last year, and the money mainly consist of inactive bank accounts, insurance payouts, expired fixed deposits, and interests.
Hopefully eGUMIS website can handle the rush of people checking for unclaimed money! For more updates, stay tuned with RAAGA!
