Malaysian talents continue to make their presence felt in Indian cinema, with actor-director Logan Kanna and actress Dishaaleney Jack achieving significant milestones in their respective Kollywood journeys.

Renowned Malaysian actor and filmmaker Logan Kanna is set to strengthen his foothold in Tamil cinema with his third Kollywood venture, Lakshmikanthan Kolai Vazhakku. A respected and familiar name in Malaysia, Logan has earned admiration for his impactful performances and storytelling, with his cult classic OPPS KOSA DAPPA remaining an evergreen favourite among local audiences.

Logan made his Tamil debut in Good Luck alongside actor Prashanth, followed by Junior Senior, which starred Malayalam megastar Mammootty. With Lakshmikanthan Kolai Vazhakku, he adds another notable project to his growing Tamil filmography. The film is directed by acclaimed Kannada filmmaker Dayal Padmanabhan, known for his distinctive narratives and strong cinematic vision. Logan recently travelled to India and successfully completed his shooting schedule for the film.

Adding to the excitement, the film’s first look poster was unveiled by celebrated Tamil filmmaker Vetrimaaran, significantly heightening anticipation. Lakshmikanthan Kolai Vazhakku is currently slated for a 2026 release, marking another important chapter in Logan’s cross-industry journey between Malaysia and India.

Meanwhile, Malaysian actress Dishaaleney Jack is also creating waves as she prepares for her Kollywood debut, a proud moment for both her career and the Malaysian film industry. Known for her impressive body of work in local dramas, telemovies, and web series, Dishaaleney made her Malaysian theatrical debut in Karthik Shamalan’s C4 Cinta.

Her upcoming Tamil project, currently referred to as Production No. 2, is directed by Vinayak Durai, marking his second directorial outing after Vallavan Vaguthathada, which was released on 19 April 2025. While the film’s official title has yet to be revealed, Dishaaleney’s entry into Kollywood signals the growing recognition of Malaysian talent on the international stage.

As Logan Kanna continues to bridge Malaysian and Indian cinema with consistent performances and meaningful roles, and Dishaaleney Jack takes her confident first step into Tamil cinema, both artistes represent a new wave of Malaysian creatives making their mark beyond borders.
