Lee Zii Jia captured the All England crown today with a rousing 30-29, 20-22, 21-9 win over Denmark's Viktor Axelsen in the men's singles final at Arena Birmingham. It's notable that The World No 10 is also the first Malaysian to win the prestigious title after Lee Chong Wei in 2017.
The 22-year-old put up one of the best performances of his life to upset second seed and defending champion Viktor Axelsen of Denmark 30-29,20-22,21-9 in an epic 74-minute battle that only befits the prestige of the world’s oldest tournament.
Former World No. 1 Chong Wei has tipped Zii Jia to be a medal contender at the Olympics if he keeps up his All England performance in the Tokyo Olympics.
We at RAAGA Wishing Lee Zii Jia a heartfelt congratulations and we hope to see more amazing performances from him in the coming Olympics!
