It has been months since the spreading of deadly bushfires across Australia, and so much devastation has been caused despite thousands of firefighters and volunteers risking their lives to combat the fires.

According to news, at least 24 people have been reported dead, including 3 firefighters, and more than 6.3 million hectares of land scorched and burned.

The country is experiencing record breaking temperatures up to 40°C and New South Wales has been hit hardest by the fires. More than 1,300 houses had to be evacuated due to the 130 fires happening around the state.

Other states such as Victoria has also been affected to the rapid spreading bushfires, and the spread of smoke is said to affect air quality as far as New Zealand.

Firefighter and Australia’s military are constantly on high alert to relocate people and even bury rotting carcasses of animals to prevent any spreading of disease. Not only that, NASA's MODIS satellite can detect fires from hot spots. This chart shows accumulated fire detections.
