It’s not every day that we get to see Malaysians make a name for themselves internationally, and today, we have that honour — two talented siblings from SJK(T) Rawang have made the nation proud with their latest achievement.
Shindavy’s artwork was selected as part of the Lucia Bocchino Fund for Promising Young Artists’ 2020 International Virtual Exhibition — while Theeran clinched the first prize in the 2020 State-Fish Art Contest.
9-year-old K. Kanniesh Theeran, a Year Three SJK(T) Rawang pupil, won first prize in the 2020 State-Fish Art Contest under the international category. The competition had 5,000 entries from 47 American states and 32 countries.
His winning piece was a drawing of a Chinese Pangasius Catfish, which he also had to write an essay on. He won a certificate, letter of achievement and a trophy from the organiser “Wildlife Forever”, who is an American non-profit conservation charity.
While Theeran’s younger sister, Kanniesh Shindavy, had her artwork selected as part of the Lucia Bocchino Fund for Promising Young Artists’ 2020 International Virtual Exhibition.
Congratulations K. Kanniesh & Shindavy! We hope to see more amazing things with your artistic talent. Good luck!
