The influenza outbreak that has been increasing since December 2019 and many schools have been affected to a point of being closed down temporarily. There are a lot of cases among school children being affected as they are the high risk group of catching the virus.
It can be hard to detect the virus early as it portrays similar symptoms to the common cold such as high fever, coughing, sore throat, and many more. The public is advised to always maintain good hygiene practices as the virus can easily spread through droplets, such as sneezing or coughing. Even if you do not fall within high risk groups, you can still spread the virus to others by taking it lightly and not taking care of your hygiene.
Fortunately, the government has recently ordered 200,000 more vaccines to be delivered to public hospitals, but priority will be given to those in the high risk groups such as pregnant mothers, children, those with diabetes and low immune systems.
The Health Ministry is also currently monitoring schools that have been reported with the outbreak to secure and stop the infection. Stay tuned and updated with RAAGA!
