The woman, identified as Palwinder Kaur, claimed a relationship got serious online with a man claiming to be the Duke and a promise of a wedding was made.
In the case of Ms Kaur, it is believed she was catfished by someone posing as Prince Harry who convinced her they were going to marry. She has filed a lawsuit calling for the real Prince Harry to carry out his promise of marriage "without further delay". The victim has produced some email between her and who she believes to be “the Duke” as evidence.
The heartbroken lover also requested that Indian authorities issue an international arrest warrant so that the UK police could take action against Prince Harry for bailing on his "promise" to marry her.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has dismissed a plea of a woman seeking action against Prince Harry of the United Kingdom for breaking a promise to marry her. Justice Arvind Singh Sangwan noted that there was a possibility that the woman might have had a conversation with fake IDs created on social media sites like which has been a common scam in the region and such conversation cannot be used as evidence in Court.
