According to TimeandDate, the type of eclipse that has taken place in Kuala Lumpur is known as a Partial Solar Eclipse. The event (which happens when the Moon touches the Sun’s edge) begun at 11.20am on 26th December 2019. It’s definitely a thing to remember because it’s definitely not something one comes across any day.
Not only that, apparently at around 1.14pm, a Maximum Eclipse (Moon is closest to the center of the Sun) was observed in Kuala Lumpur...then returned to a Partial Solar Eclipse state at around 3.11pm. (Basically what happens when the Moon leaves the Sun’s edge.)
