If You’ve Got A Pimple, It’s Probably Because Of These 7 Habits

It’s the little things that can cause an acne breakout.

Ever woken up in the morning and notice a big, red pimple on your face when you look in the mirror?

It’s the worst feeling ever! Pimples form when your hair follicles are plugged with oil and dead skin cells. It doesn’t happen without any reasons, of course. You could be doing something that’s affecting your facial skin.

Here are some everyday habits that could lead to a pimple breakout. Let’s see if you’ve been doing them:

#1 Touching your skin and popping your pimples

Let’s start with the basics. Do you think your hands are clean all the time? They’re not! Germs could get on your face and cause acne. And when you pop pimples, you risk making it worse by scarring your skin.

#2 Not taking a shower

First off: gross! Second—all that sweat and germs are going to cause your face to be oily and lead to acne.

#3 Not cleaning your makeup brushes often

The bristles of your makeup brush attract bacteria, dirt and oil. These can contribute to acne breakouts. So, make sure you wash your makeup brushes weekly!

#4 Eating greasy junk foods

We know you love your burger and fried chicken, but if you have acne-prone skin, the excess oil and grease from your food can get on your face and cause pimples to come out. Eek! Our advice is for you to stick to a healthy diet—more veggies and fruits!

#5 Not changing your pillowcase

The surface of your dirty pillowcases has oils, sweat, germs and residue from hair products, which can all cause acne to grow.

#6 Stressing yourself out

When you’re stressed out, you will release the stress hormone cortisol, which causes inflammation and causes your sebaceous cells to produce more oil. This, combined with bacteria, leads to a big zit.

Find out ways to healthily de-stress, such as exercising and something as simple as having a good night’s sleep.

#7 Always putting off washing your face properly at night

All that excess oil and bacteria that has been building up on your face throughout the day will affect your skin! It’s important to use a good facial wash—you won’t only have a smoother skin, you’ll also feel good when you go to bed.

But don’t just use any skincare products—make sure you get one that’s made for your skin type. If you’re into herbal skincare range, check out Mitvana, which has a range of facial products using the science of herbs through neem, turmeric and others.

Their diverse skincare collection offers a solution to your pimple problems!

Facial care isn’t the only routine you should pay attention to! When your hair isn’t properly washed, it can also lead to acne and other problems, including dandruff, dry and oily hair. Luckily for you, Mitvana has a range of shampoos that can help you out.
