The phrase “your body is a temple” could not be more true when it comes to keeping yourself clean. It will not only make you appealing to others, but it will have a positive effect on your emotions and mental state as well.

Be sure to shower every day before you head out and once you are back home before bed. Try not to use too much antibacterial soap as our skin contains healthy bacteria, pretty similar to how there is good bacteria in our bodies too. The antibacterial soap may wash off too much of the good bacteria which can lower our immunity against bad bacteria. 

Clean clothes and accessories

Keeping a clean body is great, but all that effort is wasted when the things you wear are dirty, like your clothes, for example. Try to wash your clothes often especially if you sweat or if you have worn it throughout the day. If you have piercings or accessories that you wear for long periods of time, wash it thoroughly one in awhile to avoid dirt accumulation.

Don’t forget to brush when you are up in the morning and before bed. Cleanliness is next to healthiness. The mouth is the right environment for bad bacteria to grow, which is all more reason to keep it clean for our bodies to be healthy as well.

Hygiene is not just about what you can see on your body, but what you can smell too. Having a good odor can psychologically make people see you as a cleaner person, and someone that takes care of their self.

We also tend to overlook our nails as it is a small part of our body. Remember that if you eat often with your hands, whatever dirt that is under your nails could get in the food. Trimming your nails can help with this as it will be easier to wash your fingers before and after a meal. As for the guys who keep beards, trimming it when it gets thick can help avoid it from looking unkempt or messy. Not a good look if you’re trying to make a first impression!
