A government giving its people something to laugh about is as rare an occurrence as a meteor shower. So when it does happen, even if it is in another part of the globe, you bet we are going to shout about it.
Recently, the provincial government of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa made a hilarious blunder on its social media. Being tech savvy, it is nothing new for the Pakistani government to utilize its social media platforms for quick response and important announcements. However, when cat filters are involved, we don’t know whether to laugh or laugh harder.
In the major gaffe, the ministers conducted the meeting online— with pink ears and cute whiskers. The administrators of the page were quick to turn the cat filter off as soon as they were alerted by a netizen in the comment section of the live streaming.
“Filter hata lo. Banda billi bana hua hai (Remove the filter, the man has been turned into a cat),” the eagle-eyed viewer warned.
This definitely left the Pakistani netizens laughing out loud, with screenshots of the gaffe taking over Twitter as many reposted the incident on their respective social media platforms.
I mean, who wont? THESE ARE MOMENTS OF THE LIFE OF A NATION WORTH REMEMBERING AND THE INTERNET IS HERE TO MAKE SOME SPACE FOR IT!
The party concerned later issued a clarification on Twitter regarding the press briefing held by KP’s Information Minister Shoukat Yousafzai, describing it as “a human error”. In a statement, PTI Said, “All necessary actions have been taken to avoid such incidents in the future.”
Human error or not, this incident has given the world a little something to laugh about! For more exciting happenings from around the globe, stay tuned to RAAGA!
