Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) has extended aid to all employers in areas affected by the conditional movement control order (CMCO) for their employees to undergo the Covid-19 testing, Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan said today.
Following the announcement of Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob that employees living in red zones in CMCO areas are advised to take Covid-19 tests, the Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan announced SOCSO aid for Covid-19 tests would be extended to the CMCO areas including Sabah, Labuan, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya
Under the SOCSO aid via the Prihatin Screening Programme (PSP) programme, employers have two options: they can either get free Covid-19 tests for their employees, or get only a maximum RM150 subsidy per employee for Covid-19 testing.
For the free Covid-19 tests for employees, the employers must make an appointment for the tests and present complete information to one of the labs under SOCSO’s service panel, with the screenings to be done at either the work premises or the clinics or labs itself.
Alternatively, employers would have to first pay for their employees to take the Covid-19 tests that are not done under SOCSO’s panel labs, before presenting an application for the Covid-19 test subsidy through the Perkeso website with the receipt attached. with this option, SOCSO will pay a subsidy of up to RM150 for each worker who had undergone Covid-19 testing, with the rest of the cost to be borne by employers.
Whether employers opt for the free or subsidised Covid-19 tests for their staff, the employers are responsible to carry out both options. For further information, email hsp@perkeso.gov.my or call 1-300 22 8000 or 03-4264 5089.
