Recent economic downturn has affected many, as they face job losses and financial problems. The risk of retrenchment and unemployment runs high, and for those living just on the poverty line or beneath it, there’s no saying what tomorrow may look like.
Love n Care Facebook page recently shared a heart touching story of 4 siblings in Setapak selling dried packaged noodles to help their parents make ends meet as the situation at home has grown to become so dire.
In young age where they would be living a care-free life, these children managed to run this business without adult supervision simply by settling down the side of a building’s wall with their carrier bag of noodles and schoolwork in hand.
While the Facebook post touched hundreds of netizens who deeply emphasize the kids hardship, many have raised concerns on the children’s safety and the risks they have to endure while selling noodles on the streets.
However, netizens who read the story, tried looking for the four siblings and discovered that they were no longer operating by the side of the road.
