Tamil director-cinematographer KV Anand passed away today (April 30th) in Chennai, India following a cardiac arrest . He was 54 at the time of his passing.
KV Anand began his film career as a cinematographer with Malayalam movie Thenmavin Kombath in 1994.
After over a decade in cinematography, which includes his work in Sivaji starring Rajinikanth, Anand made his directorial debut with the 2005 movie Kana Kandaen. He went on to helm films like Ayan, Ko, Maattrraan, Anegan, Kavan and Kaappaan.
Movie lovers and celebrities are shocked by his sudden passing. Many across the globe are paying their respects for KV Anand through social media. He is considered one of the best directors and cinematographers of India, and the last few months have truly been hard for the industry. We have lost many film legends that we admire and love, including SP Balasubramaniam and Vivek.
His memories live on in the hearts of his fans through all the amazing movies that he has given us. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones. Rest in peace, sir.
