While the world faces the pandemic, most film productions are facing issues to continue filming. Filmmakers worldwide are trying to figure out how to make a movie these days, togather lots of people on a set while making sure everyone is safe and follows SOPs.

One creative Indian film producer Jamnadas Majethia came up with a plan to use umbrellas to ensure physical distancing.

bollywood uses umbrellas to stay safe from covid-19

The Producer gave every actor and crewmember on his film an umbrella and instructed them to carry it all the time except for the actors when shooting a scene.

“Whenever people talk or work together, we forget to keep a distance. We are social beings, ” he explains. The umbrellas prevent that from happening.

Film studios were closed for several months before being permitted to make movies again, although the process has changed due to a lengthy set of rules issued by authorities. Jamnadas came up with the idea as India’s coronavirus caseload was growing at a rapid speed, gaining an average of 80,000 new infections each day in the country of about 1.38 billion people.

India is expecting to open its cinemas doors again soon with half the usual number of guests. Movie lovers are eager to head back into the halls and experience the big screens. With observation of the guideline to combat the pandemic…this too shall pass!
