The late legend SPB, singing for Rajnikanth in particular, became a ‘norm’ over the years, and he was considered the ‘singing’ voice of the Superstar. No Introduction song of Rajni felt complete without the vocals of SPB in the background.

When the soundtrack of Kabali was released, it shocked many because the album didn’t feature an SPB number, only for the duo to join hands in Petta for a brief two-liner under Anirudh’s composition.

It is also notable that the last song sung by the SPB before his passing in August was for Rajni’s upcoming film Annaatthe.

No SPB playlist is complete without this fantastic song. The lyrics have a lot to do with Superstar’s persona and the way the audience relates deeply to him. This is the typical ‘Rajinism’ intro song. The visuals add to the experience of the song and you can’t help but notice how Rajinikanth jumps into a horse-carriage and takes over the reins.
