According to the UN's World Meteorological Organisation, the average temperature of 2016 will very likely be 1.2°C above the temperature during pre-Industrial Revolution times. The limit of safe warming overall is 2°C.
Some parts of Arctic Russia even saw an increase of 6-7°C from the long-term average temperature. As such, food shortages, population migration, and conflict are expected to increase as well.
