Venkatesh Prabhu Kasthuri Raja, better known as Dhanush, is an Indian actor, producer, director, writer, lyricist and playback singer who predominantly works in Tamil cinema.

Starring in over 44 films, Dannush is curently the most desirable actor in India.

danush is our artiste of the month!
Dhanush made his debut in Thulluvadho Ilamai (2002), directed by his father, Kasthuri Raja.

He achieved further success in Polladhavan (2007) and Yaaradi Nee Mohini (2008), both of which were critically acclaimed.

His role as a rooster fight jockey in Aadukalam (2010) won him Best Actor at India’s 58th National Film Awards, and continued his success with films like 3 (2012), Maryan (2013), Anegan (2015), Kodi (2016), Vadachennai (2018) and Asuran (2019).

Vadachennai emerged as the highest-grossing A-rated Tamil film of all-time, while Asuran was the most critically-acclaimed film of his career so far.

Dhanush also went on to star in action comedy film series such as Maari (2015) and Maari 2 (2018), as well as Velaiilla Pattadhari (2014) and Velaiilla Pattadhari 2 (2017), which are fan favourites.

In 2011, Dhanush's popular song "Why This Kolaveri Di" from the romantic psychological thriller film 3 became the first Indian music video to cross 100 million views on YouTube.

Dhanush occasionally works as a playback singer and lyricist as well, generally in his own films. He was introduced as a playback singer in Pudhukottaiyilirundhu Saravanan by Yuvan Shankar Raja and collaborated again with him in Pudhupettai. He sung further numbers in Selvaraghavan's films Aayirathil Oruvan and Mayakkam Enna. Danush has sung on some of the best soundtracks in the past decade, creating a huge fan base for his rustic voice.

Join us as we celebrate Dhanush throughout the month of July!
