Wolves silence Man City with an Adama Traore brace

Oct 07, 2019

Manchester City's Premiership title defense has suffered a blow, after they fell to a shock 2-nil loss to Wolves at home.

Adama Traore netted both goals for the visitors.

This was only the second time in 45 league matches that City have failed to score.

It also leaves them second in the standings, eight points adrift of leaders, Liverpool.

Elsewhere, Newcastle beat Man United 1-nil, leaving the Red Devils just two points above the relegation zone.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits his side has a problem finishing off chances:

"We create big chances but we dont take them. The attitude is right. The energy and desire is right. It's just we haven't had that quality to score those goals."

In other results:

Arsenal beat Bournemouth 1-nil.
Chelsea thrashed Southampton 4-1.
