Liverpool’s Premier League title defense has suffered a setback, after they fell to a 1-0 defeat away to Southampton.

Danny Ings lobbed in the only goal of the game in the second minute, to inflict a second defeat of the season for the Reds.

Liverpool remain top of the table on goal difference from second placed Man United, who have a game in hand.

The Saints, meanwhile, move up to sixth place.

Aussie GP could be postponed

The season-opening Australian F1 GP in March could be postponed because of the strict Covid-19 quarantine restrictions in Melbourne.

The regulations require all personnel to undergo a 14-day isolation, which is not possible with the tight F1 schedule.

If the postponement is confirmed, it will mean the new season is set to begin on March 28th with the Bahrain GP.

National athletes contract Covid

Seven national athletes, including five para-athletes as well as one official are confirmed to have contracted Covid-19.

Their cases were detected prior to the start of their quarantine-based training program.

They are believed to have contracted the virus while on leave in their hometowns.

The National Sports Council says those who’ve been in close contact with the patients have also been isolated and will be tested again.
