Simona Halep pulls out of WTA Finals

Oct 18, 2018

World No. 1 Simona Halep has pulled out of next week's WTA Finals, due to a back injury she picked up last month.

This is the first time Halep has had to withdraw from a major tournament, and the Romanian says it was a very tough decision to make.

Kiki Bertens will take her spot, becoming the first Dutchwoman to compete at the WTA Finals in more than 20 years.

Thierry Henry inspired by Pep Guardiola to lead Monaco

New Monaco boss Thierry Henry says Man City's Pep Guardiola will be a huge influence on him, as he begins his managerial career in France.

Henry won two La Liga titles and a Champions League title under Guardiola at Barca, between 2008 and 2010.

Chelsea's Olivier Giroud has reportedly emerged as a January transfer target for West Ham.

The Frenchman only came to Stamford Bridge at the start of this year, and he has less than a year left on his current contract.

West Ham, who have been frequently linked with Giroud in the past, are now hoping to sign him cheap, as they look to finish in the top half of the EPL table.
