Sharapova's French Open participation in doubt

Organizers of the French tennis Open are reluctant to grant Maria Sharapova a wild card into this year's Grand Slam event in May.
The Russian superstar will return from a doping ban in April at the Stuttgart Open, which she must win, to build up ranking points and enter the qualifying rounds at Rolland Garros.
Due to her doping ban, Sharapova's ranking is suspended until she returns to action, in the Stuttgart Open.
