Malasia suffered heavy losses at the Denmark Badminton Open yesterday !

The country’s challenge in three events fizzled out, after our reps lost their respective matches in the opening round.

Former national shuttler, Liew Daren went down to his Japanese opponent in the men's singles while men’s doubles pair, Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi were also defeated by their Japanese opponents. 

National women’s doubles pair, Chow Mei Kuan-Lee Meng Yean also crashed out after they were defeated by their opponents from Indonesia.

Chan Peng Soon/ Goh Liu Ying and Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai are still in the running for the top prize in the mixed doubles category.

Malaysia did not send any women’s singles representatives to the tournament

The FAM is targeting for Harimau Malaya to reach the final of next month's AFF Cup.

Malaysia has reached the final of the tournament in 1996, 2010 and 2014, but we only won the gold in the 2010 edition.

And,  Sadio Mane has undergone surgery to fix the thumb injury he sustained while on international duty with Senegal.
