Chelsea and Arsenal secure lead in Europa League semis

May 03, 2019

Chelsea have played out a 1-all draw with Eintracht Frankfurt in their Europa League semifinal first leg in Germany this morning.

Pedro scored a crucial away goal just before half-time, to give The Blues a slight advantage ahead of the return leg at Stamford Bridge next week.

The draw means that Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 16 Europa League games, breaking the record set by Atletico Madrid in 2011.

Elsewhere, Alexandre Lacazette became only the third player ever to score a brace in a European semifinal match for Arsenal, as they beat Valencia 3-1 in their first leg semifinal.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also found the back of the net for The Gunners.
