Atalanta keep Man City from Champions League last-16

Manchester City will have to wait a while longer to make the last-16 of the Champions League, after they were held to a 1-all draw away to Atalanta.

Mario Pasalic netted the equaliser for the Italian side, shortly after the half-time break.

City had also missed a penalty in the first half, and had to play the closing stages of the match one man down, and also with defender Kyle Walker as the goalkeeper, after Claudio Bravo was sent off for a tackle outside the box.

Meanwhile, Tottenham thrashed Red Star Belgrade 4-nil, with Spurs now one win away from the knockout round. 

Elsewhere, Juventus, Bayern Munich and PSG are through to the last-16, with wins over Lokomotiv Moscow, Olympiakos and Brugge respectively. 

Other results saw Real Madrid hammer Galatasaray 6-nil.

Bayer Leverkusen pulled off a surprise 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid.

Arsene Wenger becomes frontrunner to coach Bayern Munich

Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is reportedly now the favourite to take over at Bayern Munich.

The Bundesliga side are looking for a temporary replacement for Niko Kovac, who left the club last weekend.

Wenger himself says he's not yet spoken officially to Bayern, but told beIN Sport that even if an offer is made, it will be difficult for him to make up his mind: 

"I'm quite happy with what I'm doing but I also miss the pitch. So it's a difficult decision for me at the moment. I will make that decision in the coming days or the coming week."

Lin Dan isn't thinking about retirement anytime soon

Lin Dan has rubbished reports of a possible retirement, with the badminton superstar still confident of making next year's Olympics. 

The former world number one, widely regarded as one of the greatest shuttlers of all time, has been going through a slump, having lost eight times in the first round of tournaments this year.

The most recent was yesterday's first round defeat to Chinese compatriot Chen Long in the China Open.

Lin, however, says he will keep fighting for a place at Tokyo 2020, adding that it's still too early to talk about retirement.
